Paul Haig - Cinematique 3 (2003)

Another great work by former Josef K's frontman Paul Haig.
You can also find, on the previous posts, Haig's "Coincidence vs. Fate" and "Memory Palace", a collaboration with Billy Mackenzie.
Hope you like it!

Juantrip' - Balmy Under the Stormy (1999)

Juantrip' - Shadows [Remixes] (1999)

Juantrip' is the alias for the french producer/musician Basil Compain who has been making music since the early 90's.
"Balmy Under the Stormy", issued under the F Communications label, was an excellent debut album with great, amazing tracks such as "Downward Rush of the Streams", "Electronic", "Fly to the Moon" and, of course, the single "Shadows", an obvious parody to the iconic guitar rock band of the same name.
Hope you like it!

The Faint - Media (1998)

The Faint - Blank-Wave Arcade (1999)

The Faint - Danse Macabre [Ltd. Edition CD 1] (2001)
The Faint - Danse Macabre [Ltd. Edition CD 2] (2001)
The Faint - Danse Macabre Remixes (2003)

The Faint - Wet From Birth (2004)

The Faint - Fascination (2008)

The Faint is a very interesting american indie group from Nebraska.
I got acquaintance of this band back in 2001 when they released "Danse Macabre", wich is my favourite record of them till now.

In popular music one thing is for certain: old genres never die or completely fade away; they just recycle. On Danse Macabre The Faint lovingly and accurately resurrect all that was memorable/forgettable about the disposable hits of 1980s: repetitive dance beats propelled by sterile drum machines, monotone vocals, spastic outbursts of cacophony, and hypnotic keyboard synthesizer motifs.
Like Soft Cell, Human League, Gary Numan, and Kraftwerk, The Faint have the ability to pen strong hooks which would have been monster hits in the dawn of the age of MTV.
The Faint offer a campy yet playfully dark collection that is purely an exercise in Reagan-era pop-culture nostalgia. (Taken from AMG)

Electronic - Electronic (1991)

Electronic was formed in the late 80's by Johnny Marr and Bernard Sumner.
This was their first album and it has the collaboration of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe from the Pet Shop Boys.
Still a great record nowadays.
Enjoy!

Saint Etienne - You Need a Mess of Help to Stand Alone (1993)

Saint Etienne was one of the most prominent indie dance pop acts of the early 90's to came out from the UK.
They were founded in 1988 by Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs who were joined later by the charismatic singer Sarah Cracknell.
This record is a collection of singles and other non-LP tracks, recorded between 1990-1993 and it contais the song wich first introduced me to the band: the beautiful dreamy tune "California Snow Story".
Enjoy!

Paul Haig - Coincidence vs. Fate (1993)

This is a 2003 reissue, with 5 extra tracks, of the classic record by former Josef K frontman Paul Haig. It has resemblances with some dance-oriented pop artists such as Electronic, New Order or Momus.
Enjoy!

One Dove - Morning Dove White (1993)

One Dove was a Glasgow based band wich first introduced us to Dot Allison and this record was their only full length release.
There were many comparisons to other girl fronted bands like Saint Etienne, though I think "Morning Dove White" is truly unique due to it's unaware advent of the trip-hop movement (that was still to come).
